RE/MAX of Nanaimo History

In 1981, during the worst Real Estate market in Nanaimo’s history, five of the top producing REALTORS® in Nanaimo had a dream. They followed that dream and founded a brokerage known as Bowen Realty. That company flourished, to the surprise of its competitors, and in 1985 Bowen Realty merged with Woodgrove Realty to form Bowen Realty Woodgrove Ltd. This merge in turn led to the offices of RE/MAX of Nanaimo.

The newly formed RE/MAX of Nanaimo quickly carved a commanding position for itself in the Nanaimo Real Estate market. The company grew consistently, and in 1992 construction began on its present Metral Centre location. The architectural style of the striking building was recognized by the City of Nanaimo with its first prize for design in 1992.

2007

• RE/MAX of Nanaimo was purchased by the current owners Charlie Parker.

2007 – 2016

• Vancouver Island Real Estate Board Sales Participation

2011

• #2 contributing office for CMN in Western Canada

2012 – 2013

• RE/MAX of Nanaimo completed a renovation to create a modern look and connivence the REALTORS® and their clients. This included an expanded office space to welcome new REALTORS® to RE/MAX of Nanaimo.

2013

• #1 contributing office for CMN in BC

2014

• A RE/MAX University training center was established in the office complex, offering full education and training opportunities for the REALTORS®.
